Paul - Company Director
CSRT & CSSW Surveyor/ ACABE
Paul has been working within the preservation industry for 20 years. He is currently the main surveyor and a director of CK Walker Damp & Timbers.
Paul started out within the industry in 2003. He trained to be a qualified plasterer by gaining his NVQ Level 2 certificate in solid plastering. He then attended regular training courses gaining further technical qualifications in damp proofing, timber preservation and structural waterproofing (PCAQT). These courses were ran by a mix of training providers such as Biokil Crown, Sovereign Chemicals, Safeguard Europe and the Property Care Association.
After many years working on the tools, Paul decided he wanted to gain qualifications in surveying. He attended many training courses, mentoring days with experienced surveyors and undertook examinations.
Paul now holds the following industry related surveying qualifications:
Both of these are nationally recognised professional qualifications within the industry.
Paul has continued to increase his surveying knowledge by attending further specialist training courses on subjects such as Thermography, Retrofit Insulation, Understanding Traditional Building Principles, Residential Ventilation, Condensation & Moisture Management, Professional use of Biocides, Waterproofing Pumps, Spray Foam insulation issues, Domestic Ventilation Systems and some Electrical Training.
Paul also holds the following additional qualifications.
Paul recently became an associate member of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (ACABE). Associate membership of CABE (ACABE) is a developmental grade on the pathway to becoming a fully qualified Building Engineer. All applicants for Associate membership must have either a minimum of a Level 4 qualification, as well as at least two years' relevant experience within the industry or can demonstrate equivalent professional experience.

Chris - Company Director
Qualified Plasterer/ Site Manager
Chris has over 40 years of plastering and damp proofing experience.
He started off completing a 5 year plastering apprenticeship after leaving school. He then moved on and completed 10 years working for Erewash Borough Council as a Plasterer. Whilst working with the council he was trained in the areas of damp proofing and timber treatment.
Danny
PCAQT (Damp & Timber/ Structural Waterproofing) Remedial Technician & Plasterer
Danny joined our team at the start of July 2021 as an apprentice. He has attended Derby College during his apprenticeship undertaking a plastering qualification which he completed in 2024.
He has recently qualified as a Property Care Association Qualified Technician (PCAQT) in remedial treatments and structural waterproofing.
Danny has also attended a carpentry course and numerous courses through our trade body the PCA. These include Health and Safety training and Understanding Traditional Building Construction.
Danny holds a current Asbestos Awareness certificate.

Danny has recently been awarded Highly Commended Employee of the Year at the national Property care Association (PCA) Awards 2024.
