After coming back from holiday there was a smell of damp and I found mould under the wallpaper. Since it was in the area around the BT socket I had great difficulty finding someone who could do a survey to find the source. The socket was moved by OpenReach and I ended up contacting CK Walker who did a survey of that area. Paul was thorough, came on time, explained what he was doing and provided a comprehensive survey. This, and the way the company responded generally gave me confidence to go with them for the remedial work. Paul and Jordan, as before came on time and a reminder was sent that they were coming and as before explained what was being done, were careful in their work and cleaned up after themselves. They both worked in, I would say, a professional manner, did not rush, were pleasant and gave me confidence that the problem has been sorted

I'd actually had two other quotes before them and neither company had picked up on the fact that there were issues in a separate area to the one I was indicating. The quote delivered and the timescale offered for the work was acceptable and when the work was carried out it was done in an extremely tidy manner by polite technicians. I would happily recommend C. CK Walker were willing to come to review a challenging case of infestation in old exposed oak beams. Paul's advice was clear, sound and balanced, i.e., weighing up the pros and cons of treating the timber against leaving it and monitoring the situation. Various treatments were suggested but then ruled out because of practicalities. Paul and CK Walker are very open, considered and fair - all you could ask for when delving into an uncommon area for most people. Highly recommended- 5 star.

Very efficient from start to finish. Happy with initial survey and the advice we were given from Paul and so we had no hesitation in booking the job in with CK Walker. We had damp in the chimney breast wall which required fixing. Jordan and Dan arrived on time and were polite, hard working and clean and tidy throughout the job of removing old plaster, applying damp proof treatment and then applying the finish plaster coat. We are very happy with the completed works and would highly recommend anyone to use CK Walker.
